April 4, 2018

Article 4.1

  • Management rights broadened/supplemented

Article 8, generally

  • Revised to comply with Initiative 1433

Article 9.1.1

  • 10 working days of bereavement leave for the death of a child or spouse
  • 125-mile one-way travel threshold for 2 additional days of bereavement leave
  • Six-month time period to utilize bereavement leave

Article 8.2.2 & 9.1.3

  • The definition of immediate family broadened to include the following:
    • Step parent
    • Biological, adopted, step or foster child regardless of age of dependency status

Article 13, generally

  • 30-day notification of divorce requirement

Article 5.2 & 28, generally

  • Oral reprimands removed from file at twelve months
  • Written reprimands removed from file at 24 months, if:
    • Circumstances do not warrant a longer retention period
    • There has been no subsequent discipline of a similar nature, and
    • The employee submits a written request for its removal
  • Reductions in pay, suspensions, demotions and written reprimands not removed after 24 months will be removed after five years if:
    • Circumstances do not warrant a longer retention period
    • There has been no subsequent discipline of a similar nature, and
    • The employee submits a written request for its removal
  • Appeals of oral reprimands to the HR Director; decision is final and binding

Article 28, generally

  • Other forms of disciplinary actions may be mutually agreed to by authorized representatives of the Union and the County

Article 6.6.1

  • Informal complaint requirement within ten working days

Article 6.6.2-4

  • Formal written grievance requirement within ten working days of response to informal complaint
  • Five working day requirement to schedule step-1 and 2 and respond to step-1 and 2 hearing

Article 6.6.5

  • Arbitration request within 30 days of step-2 response

  • 7-step pay plan conversion

Article 12.1

  • January 1, 2018: 2% wage adjustment
  • January 1, 2019: 2% wage adjustment
  • January 1, 2020: 2% wage adjustment

Article 15.1.2.1

  • Probationary employees who have served a minimum of six (6) month may be considered.
