Contract Negotiations Updates
12-20-11: Your negotiating team met with the District on Dec. 15. During this meeting, the parties reached conceptual agreement. Local 17 and the Employer are working on a written document to bring to the membership for a vote. After the written document is in place, Local 17 will provide additional information about the vote process.
Currently, we are working with the Employer to have them implement the negotiated health care rates on January 1, 2012. Conceptual agreement provides that the Employer will utilize the current formula for determining health care rates except that the new CDHP plans will not be utilized in the formula calculation, the Group Health Value plan will be free for employees only, and the the Employer will now pay 90% of the full family Group Health Value plan instead of 85% of the average cost of all of the family plans.
There is more than this being negotiated in the contract, including a COLA of 1.34% starting in April of 2012 and a 1.5% for years 2013 and 2014.

10-3 2011: The Union met with the District on Sept. 29. Proposals were made regarding COLA and Health Care and the Union awaits the District's response. Our next session is set for October 28th, 2011 but we may have a response back from the District before then. 8-3-11: Allied has chosen its negotiating team. Vicki Petterson and Merilee Dell Aquila will be representing Allied and Geoffrey Crofoot and Jeff Hutchinson will be representing EH. The current contract expires on 12-31-2011. The first session with the employer takes place on 8-10-11.
