Rhonda Ross Kendrick is the daughter of singer Diana Ross and Motown founder Berry Gordy. However, Berry was largely uninvolved in raising Rhonda. Instead she was raised by Diana's husband from 1971 to 1977, Robert Ellis Silberstein. As a child she referred to her father Berry Gordy as "Uncle B.B." Through her mother's marriage to Silberstein, actress Tracee Ellis Ross is Rhonda's half-sister. Through her mother's marriage to Arne Næss Jr, Evan Ross is her half-brother. Evan is married to singer Ashlee Simpson.

Rhonda Ross Kendrick was born in Los Angeles, California in August 1971. As an actress, Kendrick has appeared in the films The Last Dragon, Franchesca Page, and Personals. She has also appeared in episodes of the TV series Oddville, MTV, Cosby, The Temptations, Another World, and Girlfriends. In 1998 she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for Another World. Her debut album Rhonda Ross Live Featuring Rodney Kendrick was released in 2004 and her debut solo album In Case You Didn't Know was released in 2016. Kendrick toured as an opening act for her mother in 2013. She married jazz musician Rodney Kendrick in 1996 and her had first child in 2009.
